Exploring Rocky Shrublands
As spring unfolds across Hyderabad, the rocky shrublands begin to quietly transform, with new growth, flowering plants, and a burst of life adapted to these unique landscapes.
Join us for a guided nature walk at Ghar-e-Mubarak, one of the city’s lesser-known yet ecologically rich rocky habitats. Led by Ms. Kobita Das, plant expert and naturalist, this walk will focus on understanding the flora of Deccan scrub ecosystems; the hardy, resilient plants that thrive in rocky soils and extreme conditions.
Participants will learn to identify common native species, observe seasonal changes, and understand how these plants support insects, birds, and overall biodiversity in urban ecosystems.
